The incidence rate for July 2025 was announced during the People’s Morning Conference, and this state stood out for its positive results.
▪During that period, seven were recorded, representing 0.3 percent of the national total, even lower than neighboring states.
▪Governor David Monreal, with the support of President Claudia Sheinbaum, has managed to make Zacatecas a national example.
Governor David Monreal Ávila, with the support of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, has managed to make Zacatecas the third safest state in the country. According to the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP), this state is among the three states with the lowest incidence of intentional homicides, only Yucatán and Coahuila are below.
This Tuesday, during the President’s “Mañanera del Pueblo” (People’s Morning Press Conference), the statistics on homicides committed in the country during the month of July 2025 were presented. Zacatecas ranked third in the lowest crime rate, reporting seven homicides, while Yucatán recorded three and Coahuila two, placing this state as a national example.
The results for this state are unprecedented and historic when compared to the incidence seen in 2021, when Zacatecas ranked first in crime, closing that year with more than 1,700 intentional homicides.
Today, four years later, with the strong support of then-President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and current President Claudia Sheinbaum, Zacatecas is experiencing a very different reality, as evidenced by Mexican government statistics. While the state with the highest homicide rate reported 182 in July of this year, there were seven here, representing 0.3 percent of the national total, even lower than neighboring states.
For this reason, Governor David Monreal Ávila reiterated his recognition of the corporations at different levels of government, the institutions that make up the State Peacebuilding Roundtable, and, in particular, the population, who are the key players in Zacatecas’s progress toward peace and well-being.
Likewise, the governor recognized President Claudia Sheinbaum because the daily average of intentional homicide victims nationwide has decreased by -25.3 percent.
It should be noted that, according to the SESNSP, seven federal entities accounted for 50.7 percent of intentional homicides in July 2025, or 1,020.
