The Attorney General of the State of Aguascalientes, Manuel Alonso García, confirmed the location of the young woman from Aguascalientes, Lorena Alba Chalita, and her boyfriend, who were reported missing in November 2024 in the municipality of Villanueva, Zacatecas.

According to the prosecutor, the remains of the two young women were found in Zacatecas at least 20 days ago. However, authorities were unable to immediately identify them due to the condition of their bodies, requiring genetic testing.

We understand that this person was identified a few days ago, approximately 20 days ago, but genetic testing was pending until this situation could be confirmed.

Once the genetic testing was completed, he explained, the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Zacatecas (FGJEZ) requested the support of Aguascalientes.

They are requesting assistance so that we can also use some samples we had from the person, so we can compare the samples they are requesting, and unfortunately, it is confirmed.

Manuel Alonso García also reported that Lorena’s family has already been notified by the FGJEZ (Federal Attorney General’s Office).

The prosecutor explained that the two young women, Lorena and her boyfriend, moved to the municipality of Villanueva, where he was originally from. Communication was lost there, so the family immediately requested assistance from the Aguascalientes Attorney General’s Office. However, it was not within their jurisdiction; “it was the jurisdiction of Zacatecas, since it was verified that he was in that state, where communication is lost.”

For its part, the Zacatecas Attorney General’s Office has remained silent despite multiple requests for information from the department that handles the media.
