Colombian Family Disappears in Zacatecas; They were traveling by bus to Juárez

The family is made up of three children, ages 3, 6 and 11; and two adults, a 36-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man

The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Zacatecas (FGJEZ) is searching for a family reported missing since last October 27 in the municipality of Calera.

The Alba Protocol and the Amber Alert were activated to locate a couple and their three minor children.

The Colombian consulate reported that the family’s disappearance occurred when they were traveling by bus from Mexico City to Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, on October 27.

The Prosecutor’s Office is looking for Jorge Alejandro García Villamil, 44 years old; According to his search file, he is 1.70 tall, he has small eyes and curly brown hair.


The mother of the minors is Yulieth Andrea Alfonso Alfonso, 36 years old, has a thin face, dark skin and is 1.58 meters tall.

The three minors are between 11 and 3 years old. The oldest is Daniel José Martínez Alonso, 11 years old, he is 1.52 meters tall, has light brown skin, and short, wavy, brown hair.

He is followed by Mia García Alfonso, 6 years old; At 1.20 meters tall, she has long brown hair; light brown skin.

The youngest is David Alejandro García Villamil, 3 years old; It measures almost one meter and has white skin, with no particular signs.

For the three minors, the State Prosecutor’s Office activated the Amber Alert and released their files on November 2.

The authorities have not released the circumstances in which the family disappeared, although local media report that they were kidnapped by an armed commando of organized crime who entered their home.

In September, seven teenagers disappeared in Zacatecas and all but one was found dead days later.

Zacatecas has the second highest homicide rate per 100,000 inhabitants, with 87 in 2022, above the national average of 25 and only below Colima’s index of 113, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi).
