The senator from Tamaulipas, Faustino López Vargas, and his wife Pilar Hernández Morales died in a car accident that occurred on the section of federal highway 45 Zacatecas-Trancoso.
According to the first expert opinions, the legislator of the Morena parliamentary group was driving the vehicle in which he was traveling with five other people.
The senator was going to the city of Zacatecas as one of the special guests to report on the activities of his counterpart, Soledad Luévano, from Zacatecas, who suspended the event at the last minute.
According to the report of the Municipal Civil Protection Unit of Trancoso, at approximately 4:25 p.m. a phone call was received alerting about the road mishap.
