Faced with Morena’s ban on nepotism in its candidacies, Senator Saúl Monreal is already exploring options, as he wants to be the candidate for governor of Zacatecas; however, the PT and PRI have already rejected him.
Last May, Morena’s National Council approved a ban on its members running in 2027 for the same office held by any of their relatives. These individuals will also be barred from running for any political party allied with Morena, whether at the local or national level, under a coalition or joint candidacy.
