The report was handled by State Police officers assigned to the Specialized Group for Combating Livestock Theft, after a request for assistance was received through the 911 Emergency Service from a man who identified himself as Rubén “N.” He stated that he had been unable to locate his horses for approximately 12 days and did not know if they had left the corral, so the case was registered as lost.
After receiving the report, the officers initiated a search operation in the area bordering the aforementioned community. As part of the operation, they deployed a drone to conduct strategic overflights of the indicated area.
During the aerial reconnaissance, they located a group of horses in the community of El Copetillo, Zacatecas, which matched the characteristics and branding described by the owner.
Finally, the authorities informed the owner of the exact geographical location of his 13 mares, so that he could proceed with their recovery in coordination with the corresponding authorities of the state of Zacatecas, since the site where they were located belongs to that entity.
