Feminist lawyer Mara Muñoz Galván confirmed that she won her challenge on gender parity grounds, and as a result, she will become a District Criminal Judge starting September 1.
This comes after the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judicial Branch determined that the three seats in the Zacatecas Criminal District would be filled by men, and ruled in favor of Mara Muñoz. “No effort is too small to create a court that is an example of listening,” she said.
