On social media, the child’s mother, Guadalupe Hernández, claimed that she was deceived by two people offering supposed therapeutic services into voluntarily handing over her son, who would later give him to another family.
“Those who offer physical and emotional therapies such as access bars, Reiki, and emotional constellations intimidated me psychologically… They are the link, they are the intermediaries,” Guadalupe Hernández, mother of the stolen child.
The woman stated that the case is already being investigated by the Zacatecas Prosecutor’s Office, the DIF (National Family Development Agency), and the Human Rights Commission.
“The relevant agencies, such as the Zacatecas State Attorney General’s Office, the DIF (National Family Development Agency), and the Human Rights Commission, are already conducting all necessary investigations to recover my son,” Guadalupe Hernández, mother of the stolen child.
Prosecutor’s Office Points to Illegal Adoption
State prosecutor Cristian Paul Camacho reported that the child’s handover was consented to by the biological mother, which raises the possibility that it was an irregular adoption.
“It should be noted that there are no hospital records either because the mother always provided the name of the person currently caring for the child,” Cristian Paul Camacho, Zacatecas State Attorney General.
Given the complexity of the case and the allegations spread on social media, a second investigation was opened into the possible operation of a child trafficking ring in Río Grande.
“We are currently investigating a crime; they will also have to address family matters; however, the prosecutor’s priority right now is the best interests of the child,” Cristian Paul Camacho, Zacatecas State Attorney General.
Authorities warn of legal consequences
The prosecutor warned that if it is proven that the biological mother consented to the surrender, she could face legal liability. The priority, he emphasized, is to guarantee the best interests of the child and clarify whether there are more cases linked to those reported.
