It was on the busy road where 53-year-old Elias was driving a semi-trailer, leaving Saltillo bound for Derramadero.
However, upon reaching kilometer 329, the semi-trailer driver noticed a vehicle attempting to pass him on the left, unaware that other cars were coming in the opposite direction.
Not ruling out an impact between the two vehicles, the semi-trailer driver attempted to pull over. However, after losing control of the steering wheel, a head-on collision occurred with pavement resurfacing material, which failed to prevent the rollover.
Following the accident, State Police officers arrived at the scene. After interviewing the semi-trailer driver, they ruled out calling an ambulance, as he did not have life-threatening injuries.
The truck driver called his employer to report what had happened and requested the presence of the insurance company so they could address his legal situation.
