Zacatecas police will receive training in Spain

The Secretary of Public Security of the State of Zacatecas, Arturo Medina Mayoral, announced this Tuesday the opening of the Official Call for Police Training in Spain, an opportunity for operational officers from various security forces in the state.

During a press conference, Medina Mayoral emphasized that this international internship represents a unique opportunity for professional growth, the exchange of best practices, and cultural enrichment for Zacatecas’ security personnel.

Selection and Requirements

A total of 20 operational officers will be selected through this call, distributed as follows: five operational commanders from the State Preventive Police, five operational officers from the same force, five commanders or officers from the Municipal Police, and five officers from the Investigative Police of the State Attorney General’s Office.


Applicants must meet specific requirements, including: being active members of the SSP or participating corporations, having no sanctions or disciplinary proceedings, and presenting documentation such as a Permanent Unique Identification Code (CUIP), initial training course, a Single Police Certificate (CUP), and a valid passport.

In addition, candidates must complete the forms required by the European Union, while professional merits and a clean record will be key selection criteria.

Schedule and Process

Applications will be open from June 3 to 13, 2025, and results will be announced on Wednesday, June 15 of the same year.

Comprehensive Academic Program

The academic and practical program has been designed in collaboration with prestigious Spanish institutions, including the National Police, Civil Guard, Torrejón de Ardoz Air Base, and universities in the regions of Madrid and Extremadura.

Participants will receive specialized training in Public Security, with specific modules on Human Rights, police proximity and victim assistance, conflict resolution and mediation, gender perspective and violence prevention, as well as international legislation and European best practices.

Institutional Visit Schedule

The program includes visits to relevant institutions such as the Spanish National Police, the Civil Guard, the Torrejón de Ardoz Air Base, the Toledo Infantry Academy, Spanish universities, as well as the Senate and the Congress of Deputies.

As part of the cultural component, members will participate in guided tours of emblematic sites such as the Royal Palace, the Army Museum, and the Monumental Complex of Toledo. If activities are held in Extremadura, the Mérida Amphitheater and the Monumental Complex of Cáceres will be included.
