Accident in Zacatecas leaves 8 Mexicans dead and 30 injured, they came from the US to vacation in Mexico
Eight people residing in the United States with Mexican nationality who came to vacation in Mexico died and 30 more were injured, when the bus in which they were traveling crashed on Monday morning on federal highway 54, in Zacatecas.
According to the first reports, around 6:30 a.m., a passenger truck from the “Zavala Plus” company, coming from Dallas, Texas, was driving while it was raining, so the pavement was wet.
At the height of the community of Rocamontes, at Kilometer 264 on the border of Coahuila and Zacatecas, the driver of the unit lost control and it overturned on the side of the road.
Members of the Municipal Civil Protection Unit of the Zacatecas municipality of Concepción del Oro, headed by Coordinator Héctor Silos Hernández, attended the site to provide care to the survivors.
Minutes later, members of the Civil Protection emergency forces of the state of Zacatecas joined the rescue tasks, as well as personnel from the Mexican Red Cross, the National Guard Roads and Highways Division, the Ministry of National Defense, as well as the Police. It turned out that on the bus that left Dallas, Texas, yesterday, Sunday, July 2, were countrymen from Wichita, Kansas; Tulsa Oklahoma, Fort Worth, Irving Texas, Austin Texas, San Marcos Texas and San Antonio Texas.
The countrymen were on their way to different communities within the states of Zacatecas, Aguascalientes, and Jalisco.
