At least 13 people were murdered in the state of Zacatecas during the weekend

At least 13 people were killed in different armed attacks that occurred this past weekend in five municipalities of the entity, which continues to be mired in violence generated by the struggle of organized crime groups, despite the Zacatecas II operation.

In the early hours of Saturday, June 11th, the detonations of large-caliber weapons sounded in the city of Fresnillo, which experienced confrontations and persecutions on different roads such as Jesús Varela Rico Boulevard, Paseo del Mineral, Huicot Avenue, and Sonora Street, in the heart of the downtown area.

In the magical town of Jerez, located 43 kilometers south of the city of Zacatecas, armed civilians killed a man during the early hours of Saturday in the Mercaderes neighborhood.

Two other men were gunned down on Saturday afternoon on the side of federal highway 45 in the municipality of Calera, 28 kilometers from the state capital.


In Guadalupe, a suburb of the city of Zacatecas, three men were killed and three people injured in three separate attacks on the same day.

In the Tacoaleche community, two men died after being shot at by armed civilians.

That same Saturday night on Guadalupe street in the Ferrocarrilera neighborhood, a man and a woman were murdered.

The wave of murders continued on Sunday, June 12th, in the state of Zacatecas where five more intentional homicides were registered.
