As part of the Zacatecas government’s strategy to strengthen institutional, commercial, and tourism ties with the world, a collaboration agreement was signed today between the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Mexico, the National Chamber of Commerce, Services, and Tourism (Canaco Servytur) in the state, and the state administration, through the Ministry of Economy.

This meeting represents a momentous step in Governor David Monreal Ávila’s vision of promoting Zacatecas as a state with international reach, capable of attracting foreign investment, consolidating its tourism vocation, and strengthening its presence in global trade.

The signed agreement aims to trigger binational projects in investment, tourism promotion, trade, and formal employment generation, in order to foster economic development for the benefit of both regions.

During the event, the Secretary of Economy, Jorge Miranda Castro, highlighted the importance of this alliance and Zacatecas’s strategic role in the country’s economic landscape.

“Today, we reaffirm our commitment to the economic development of the state and to the internationalization of our companies. This agreement with the Italian Chamber of Commerce marks the beginning of a solid collaboration, which will open investment channels, establish trade networks, and position Zacatecas as a reliable and competitive destination for international business.”

The official emphasized that these types of efforts are part of a comprehensive policy to improve the living conditions of Zacatecans by attracting productive projects that generate formal, well-paying jobs.

Lorenzo Vianello, president of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Mexico, recognized Zacatecas’s potential and the collaboration of Governor David Monreal Ávila to build bridges of understanding and cooperation with Europe.

“Italy and Mexico share very strong historical and cultural ties. For the Italian Chamber, this agreement represents a real opportunity for cooperation, which goes beyond the commercial sphere; we are talking about technological, tourism, gastronomic, and cultural exchanges. We see Zacatecas as a state with great potential for growth and a strategic partner for our companies.”

For his part, the state Secretary of Tourism, Le Roy Barragán Ocampo, noted that the agreement will also strengthen Zacatecas’s image as an international tourist destination.

“Zacatecas has a rich history, architecture, and culture that makes it unique. Through this agreement, we seek to attract European tourism, particularly Italian tourism, that values our colonial heritage, our traditions, and our cultural heritage. These types of alliances will allow us to continue positioning Zacatecas in the main international tourism markets.”

Jesús Gabriel López del Bosque, president of Canaco Servytur Zacatecas, celebrated the fact that local businesses have platforms like this to expand their international reach.

“As a business sector, we recognize the value of opening new doors for our companies. This agreement will allow us to explore opportunities with Italian companies, generate an exchange of experiences, improve our capabilities, and access new markets. We thank Governor David Monreal Ávila for supporting these types of initiatives, which contribute to Zacatecas’s economic development.”

With the signing of this agreement, Zacatecas reaffirms its commitment to openness to the world, as well as its commitment to building strategic alliances that generate well-being for Zacatecas families and strengthen local economic development, with a global vision.

Also participating in this event were Andrea Gianvenuti, Economic Attaché of the Italian Embassy in Mexico, and Mauricio González López, Secretary of Tourism for the State of Aguascalientes.
