Governor David Monreal Ávila highlighted that there have been important achievements in terms of economic development and infrastructure in Zacatecas, while in terms of security the implemented model has been so successful that it has been replicated in more than 14 states in the country, as an effective strategy in the fight for pacification.

When leading the Flag Honors ceremony in Ciudad Administrativa, accompanied by members of the Peace Building Roundtable, state and federal officials, the state leader highlighted that a reduction of more than 50 percent in crime rates has been achieved in the last year and a decrease of 75 percent has been accumulated since 2021.

Monreal Ávila said that these good results are due to the coordinated work done with the federal security forces, which include the Mexican Army, the National Guard and the Secretariat of Public Security.

Likewise, the state leader expressed his recognition to the President of the Republic, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, for the progress achieved in the first 100 days of government, where he highlights the 16 percent decrease in crime rates nationwide, actions that are essential to consolidate the “second floor of the Fourth Transformation”, which is aimed at strengthening social justice and democracy in Mexico.

He stressed that the country is in good hands with President Claudia Sheinbaum, because by prioritizing adherence to sovereignty and independence and never again submission, Mexico consolidates its democracy, strengthens its institutions and enjoys its freedom, “that is why it is up to us Mexicans to close ranks around her.”

In the economic sphere, Governor David Monreal underlined the responsible management of public finances, which allowed the unanimous approval of the economic package for 2025; he highlighted the relevance of strategic projects such as the Milpillas water system, key to solving water supply problems in the region; the construction of the first third-level hospital in the state, which will improve specialized medical care; and the installation of the bean and seed treatment and production plant, which will boost the local economy.

He also recognized the contribution of the Zacatecan migrant community to the economic well-being of the state and expressed his gratitude for the constant support that his fellow countrymen provide to their families and communities of origin, highlighting the importance of remittances in the economic development of the state and the country.

Likewise, the state leader called on public servants to maintain commitment and social responsibility in the performance of their duties; he recognized the efforts of the state bureaucracy and stressed that the achievements have been possible thanks to the joint work of all areas of government; however, he warned that there is still much to do to consolidate the development of the state.

He reiterated the commitment to work with determination to guarantee peace, security and economic development in Zacatecas and stressed that the state will continue to advance with works, actions and public policies aimed at the well-being of its people.

The event was attended by General Ricardo Ortega, commander of the 52nd Infantry Battalion; Colonel Manuel Ricardo Azamar Santiago, commander of the 5th Battalion of the National Guard; General Arturo Medina Mayoral, Secretary of Public Security; Rodrigo Reyes Mugüerza, Secretary General of Government; Adilene Rosales Romero, delegate of Development Programs.
