This Thursday, Mayor Javier Torres Rodríguez gave the go-ahead for the December Operation, focused on protecting the municipal capital and its communities with a police deployment, which will extend to the roads to guarantee the safe return of the countrymen in view of the Christmas holidays.
During the event, he explained that there will be the coordinated participation of personnel from the Mexican Army and the National Guard (GN), as well as the State Preventive Police (PEP), Municipal Police and the Preventive Road Police.
In this regard, he assured that the elements deployed in the municipality will be the necessary ones to guarantee security during the season, although he did not specify the exact number of them.
“Urban areas will be protected and patrols will be maintained in the remote communities of the municipality for the benefit of the hundreds of families who come to visit Fresnillo from the United States,” said the mayor.
In this regard, he assured that there will be security on federal and state highways, in addition to the fact that surveillance will be reinforced to prevent crimes during the Christmas season: “we will have an environment of peace and security for citizens.”
At the event he was accompanied by Arturo Medina Mayoral, head of the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), and Lieutenant Colonel Manuel Moreno Mendoza, of the 97th Infantry Battalion.
