The National Fair of Zacatecas (Fenaza), a state in the north-central part of Mexico, presented this Tuesday the program of its bullfighting activity, which highlights the bravery of the selected cattle ranches, mainly that of Fernando Lomelí, and the presence of the bullfighters Ernesto Javier ‘Calita’ and Héctor Gutiérrez.

The bullfighting series is made up of three bullfights and a bullfight that will take place between September 8 and 22, within the framework of the celebrations of the so-called “Fiestas Patrias” in Mexico, in which the country’s independence is celebrated on September 16, 1810.

The fair is organized by Don Bull, a bullfighting company owned by the union leader Pedro Haces, a partner in the Las Ventas bullring in Madrid, among others.

The presence of Fernando Lomelí’s cattle ranch is undoubtedly the highlight of the bullfighting fair in Zacatecas.

On July 21, at the Monumental de México Bullring in the capital of the country, Fernando Lomelí’s bulls gave a recital of bravery and trapío. All six were applauded as they were dragged out. The afternoon at La México ended with fans standing up applauding as the rancher made a lap of the ring.

There is great expectation to see how bulls from this brand perform, already at the age required for major bullfights. It so happens that these brave bulls raised in the Coahuila desert have not been in a bullfight at the Monumental, among other first-class bullfights that they have not visited in their four decades of brave history.

Lomelí is accompanied by one of the “tough” bullfights. That of José Julián Llaguno. A cattle ranch from the state of Zacatecas that usually sends bulls with a very serious presentation and in some cases with a lot of breed.

La Concepción, the other bullfighting event announced, stands out for the diverse performance of its cattle.

In the section of the selected bullfighters, the presence of Ernesto Javier “Calita” against the Lomelí on September 8 is the highlight of the fair.

The complicated Llaguno will be the lot of Hector Gutierrez, one of the promises that broke the Mexican ranking in 2023. Arturo Gilio is also part of this category of young swordsmen asking for the step in Mexico and is announced at the fair.
