Explosion outside the Ojocaliente police headquarters leaves seven injured and forces the suspension of public activities.

An explosion near the Municipal Police Headquarters in Ojocaliente left seven people injured, including six civilians and one Municipal Police officer, according to reports released following the incident. Preliminary information indicated that a suspected explosive device placed inside a vehicle may have detonated near the police headquarters. The explosion also caused material damage to the police building, nearby homes and businesses, as well as 11 private vehicles and two police patrol vehicles.

The injured civilians were transported to different hospitals to receive medical attention, while authorities from all three levels of government implemented a security operation throughout the municipality and at its main access points to conduct the corresponding investigations and locate those potentially responsible.

As a preventive measure, the Municipal Government announced the cancellation of the crowning ceremony for the 2026 Fair Queen and the suspension of classes at all educational levels in the municipal seat until further notice.

Likewise, it was decided to temporarily suspend public services at the Municipal Presidency offices. Departments responsible for emergencies and essential services remain operational.

Authorities urged residents to remain calm and avoid spreading rumors.
