The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, announced some of the activities scheduled for 2025, with which visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of heritage, mining, magical, cultural, spiritual, natural and romantic experiences in Zacatecas.
She highlighted the celebration of the 39th edition of the Zacatecas Cultural Festival, the 28th Zacatecas International Folklore Festival, the Zacatecas National Fair and the 22nd Zacateca International Street Theater Festival, where more than one hundred thousand attendees have gathered in each one.
The Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, announced that, with a wide range of fairs and festivals, this 2025, Zacatecas will dazzle tourists and residents.
As part of the strategy to consolidate the tourism industry in Zacatecas as a generator of well-being, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) reported some of the activities scheduled for 2025, with which visitors will be able to learn about the wide variety of heritage, mining, magical, cultural, spiritual, natural and romantic experiences of the state.
She highlighted the celebration of the 39th edition of the Zacatecas Cultural Festival, to be held from April 12 to 26, and which in previous editions has brought together more than 25 simultaneous forums and a large number of local, national and international artists, including José Carreras, Raphael, Air Supply and Jarabe de Palo. In its 2024 edition, it had more than 250 thousand attendees.
On the other hand, from July 27 to August 3, the 28th Zacatecas International Folklore Festival will be held, which has great recognition for the number of delegations and countries from around the world participating in this great exhibition of music, dance and tradition in the main streets of the capital of Zacatecas, and that its 2024 edition had more than 164 thousand attendees.
Likewise, he highlighted that in September 2025, the Zacatecas National Fair will be held, the state’s largest festival and one of the best at the national level, which in 2024 had an attendance of more than 1 million people.
Meanwhile, from October 11 to 18, the 22nd Zacateca International Street Theater Festival will be held, where the streets of the city’s Historic Center are the stage where various stage expressions will be presented, full of music, color and magic.
Within the framework of the 48th Tianguis Turístico 2024, México Desconocido recognized the Zacatecas International Street Theater Festival as one of the best contemporary cultural festivals or events, in the “Best of Mexico” awards and in 2024 it had an attendance of more than 110 thousand people.
As part of the traditional festivities in honor of the faithful departed, from October 27 to November 3, the Day of the Dead Festival will take place with an artistic, academic, exhibition and visual arts program. The 2024 edition had the participation of the state of Michoacán and more than 70 thousand spectators.
Likewise, starting on April 19, the Jerez Spring Fair takes place, one of the most traditional in Zacatecas that begins with the “burning of Judas”, a massive parade and a large number of music bands; and from June 19 to 21, the Jornadas Lopezvelardeanas, a prominent literary forum that celebrates the life and work of the national poet Ramón López Velarde and a vital meeting point for Spanish-speaking poets, writers and essayists.
In recognizing the work carried out in terms of citizen security in the state, in coordination with federal authorities, the Secretary of Tourism urged tourists to pay attention to the pages and social networks of the Secretariats of Tourism of Mexico and Zacatecas to learn more about the cultural, artistic and sports agenda of the state.
