Princess and Holland America Line reschedule cruise departures until summer

With an adverse scenario due to the second wave of the health emergency that affects the world, the cruise lines Princess Cruises and Holland America Line (HAL), announced that they reschedule the departures of their cruises until April 30, in addition to some dates. in May, June and August.

Princess explained that she rescheduled trips to the Caribbean until May 14, including stopovers at the ports of Mexico and on the California coast until the beginning of the high season for travelers, while departures from Alaska and Europe are suspended.

Holland America, for its part, explained that until April 30 the affected trips are those that cross Alaska, the Mexican Riviera Maya, the Pacific coast, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and Canada that make a route through New England.

In addition, it canceled all Alaska cruises through mid-May, and its three-ship departures from this country through early June, as well as any maritime land travel related to canceled Alaska trips.


Passing through the Mediterranean cruises until the beginning of June and the itineraries of the Dutch city of Zaandam, in addition to Canada and New England until August.

125% future credits for cruise ships

Holland America also announced that customers who paid for their trip in full will receive a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) of 125%. For those travelers who do not pay in full, they will receive an FCC of double the amount of their deposit. These credits are valid for 12 months from the date of issue and can be used for cruises that leave until December 31, 2022.

While Princess Cruises passengers have the option of receiving a refundable FCC equal to 100% of the cruise fare paid plus an additional 25% non-refundable future cruise credit. These credits can be used for any cruise booked before May 1, 2022, and by December 31, 2022.

To request a refund, HAL customers must complete this online form, and Princess customers must enter the link https://www.princess.com/pcl/ to validate the refund. For any cruise line, refund requests must be received by February 15th.

Holland America Line previously canceled all sailings through March 31 due to the health crisis.
